Clinical Diagnostic Reagents
Bilirubin
Special characteristics:
No interference by coexistent serum substances
Good correlation to diazo coupling method
Serum Bilirubin measurement is widely used as a screening test for liver functions. The common methods most widely used for determination of serum Bilirubin are the diazo coupling method and the Bilirubin oxidase enzymatic method . However, these methods have disadvantages such as interferences by coexistent serum substances and unsatisfactory stability of reagents after preparation. Wako Total Bilirubin L-Type is based on chemical oxidation method, utilizing Vanadate as an oxidizing agent. It shows good correlation with conventional methods, and practically there is no interference by coexistent serum substances.
